DAY5

What a result!

Stockpile of cladding
It just gets better...best day yet!
I would like to point out that while this is 'day 5', it is now the fifth week of this project. I am only doing this at weekends, I go to work to rest and recuperate, ready for the next weekend of physical punishment. Playing with giant lego is hard, but FUN.
Really positive day. Got into a good routine with regards stripping old cladding and managed to produce a whole load of useable boards. I also splashed out on some roof felt, so that I could line the walls with it. I reckon it will act as both a water & wind proof layer - nice and cosy in the autumn. This allowed me to trial clad the first wall. I wanted to see how easy / hard it was going to be. First discovery was that I needed to use good screws, the nails I had planned to use were fiddly and difficult to remove when it went wrong. Guess I need to fork out on a whole load of screws (hadn't budgeted for that).
In the evening my wife and I went for a walk around the block (been spending a lot of time with my pallets...not my family) and we stumbled upon some french doors that were being 'donated'. So, we cut the walk short and got the jeep. Picked up the doors for £15....bit rotten...but I reckon fixable. What a result! I have to say I was a bit worried about the door situation, but he who waits :-)
Luckily my wife and son are amazing and are still tolerating my pallet infatuation.

Up goes the walls
