A month has passed already

Well, what can I say...a month has passed already...crazy!

A lot has happened if I am honest and it's difficult to sum up in a single post - I need to get better at this & be more regular.

We have had our well fixed and finally have running water (5 weeks using carry water). It's also HOT - which is a bonus! We are still fetching drinking water from the local spring, as we have not had our water tested yet.

Purchased a new 'dry toilet', one that freezes your business :-), as well as a washing machine (pulsator). The idea is to eradicate black water entirely from the site & filter our own grey water.

Had LOADS of logs delivered as we burned through the first batch over the first 8 weeks - its been a long winter. In fact, we have had several back winters (Spring - then winter, Spring - then winter again). Apparently, we have more snow this week.

Had our pillars setup, ready for our sauna-koti. Unfortunately, our road is so bad, I am not sure we can take delivery of it yet. The kelirikko has been awful. It has now turned our road to mushy mud & sink holes. The removal van turned up on Sunday & got stuck in the mud. Helena had to tow the van out with the car - quite exciting actually.

Gonna buy myself a pickup this week (hopefully), as we need a backup vehicle.

Also started some our jobs, ready for the BIG summer renovations - but I will write some more regular posts on that topic.
